Industrial Tour

The CHBE Third Year Industrial Tour is a tradition that is considered by students to be one of the highlights of their degree.

Third year students in the Chemical Engineering and the Chemical and Biological Engineering programs are provided with the opportunity to tour industrial operations, view the unit operations and processes that they have learned about in the classroom, meet industry professionals in their work environment, develop an understanding of engineering roles and learn about career opportunities.

Students visit a variety of operations ranging from water filtration and purification facilities, natural gas processing plants, pulp mills, food and beverage processing facilities, chemical manufacturing facilities, and many more.

Third year CHBE students will receive the Industrial Tour details through their Process Engineering Laboratory Course, CHBE 362.

Thank You to Our Industry Partners

We thank the participating industry partners who opened their doors, welcomed students and provided staff and resources so that students could see their facilities, gain an understanding of their operations and meet operators and engineers.

We also thank the Shell Canada Ambassador Program (CAP) for its ongoing generous financial support of the field trips. CAP takes the classroom outside campus borders, giving students first-hand experiences and a greater understanding of engineering in the field.
