CHBE Safety Manual

Introduction

The CHBE Safety Manual is a required document of the Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering (CHBE) and all Departments on the UBC campus. It specifies all the elements of the safety program as mandated by the Worker’s Compensation Board. All individuals designated as being responsible for the various program elements are included in the document.

This Safety Manual is made available to all Department personnel. This will ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities and safe work procedures. It also gives the Workers’ Compensation Board inspectors a good place to start when evaluating the department safety program. Fire plans and evacuation routes that are specific to the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department are included in this document.
