Jasmeen Kaur Receives MANA Best Poster Award
Jasmeen Kaur, CHBE Postdoctoral fellow, has received the best poster award and travel grant at the Metabolomics Association of North America’s (MANA) 4th annual conference in Edmonton. Dr. Kaur received the award for her poster “Metabolic profiling of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by the Corpse plant using GC×GC-TOF MS”, research carried out in Dr. Jane Hill’s Research Lab. The Best Poster award is a competitive award for competitors who clearly and enthusiastically describes the scientific merit of their research. Jane Hill Elected Chair of International Association of Breath Research
Chemical & Biological Engineering Professor and Canada Research Chair in Breath Science and Technology (Tier 1), Jane Hill, has been elected incoming Chair of the International Association of Breath Research (IABR). The IABR was established in 2005 and has members from around the world. The IABR organizes conferences, meetings, and works closely with the Journal of Breath Research, to share the latest data and technologies to advance breath research. Dr. James Piret Receives William F. Meggers Award
Chemical & Biological Engineering and Michael Smith Laboratories Professor James M. Piret has been selected to receive the 2022 William F. Meggers Award from the Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS), which will be presented at the FACSS SciX Conference this October at the Northern Kentucky Convention Centre in Greater Cincinnati. The award, established in 1960, is given to the authors of an exceptional paper appearing in the Applied Spectroscopy journal. CHBE Professor, Associate Head and Canadian Research Chair in Clean Energy and Electrochemical Technologies (Tier 1), David P.
