The Development of Biomass Heating in China – Technologies, Standards and Policies
China attaches great importance to clean heating in rural areas. China has plenty of agricultural and forestry biomass resources. Using biomass for cooking and heating is a great alternative way to save energy and reduce emissions. This presentation will introduce the technologies, products, and projects of biomass clean heating in China, as well as the standards of biomass fuels, heating stoves and boilers, and China’s policies to support biomass clean heating.
Dr. Guangqing Liu is the Director of Biomass Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Center of Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), and was elected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). His research field is biomass energy and waste treatment. He has published more than 200 academic papers, 5 books and chapters and got more than 30 China Patents. As one of the main drafters, he participated to draft more than 10 standards of ISO, China National Standards, and China Industry Standards. As the PI, he has got more than 20 program grants from China Ministry of Science and Technology, China Ministry of Agricultural & Rural Affairs, National Natural Science Foundation of China, United Nations Foundation, and World Bank etc.
