Professor in the UBC Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and Director, Clean Energy Research Centre, Xiaotao Bi, is the winner of the 2nd annual BC Bioenergy Sector Researcher Awards. The BC Bioenergy Sector Awards are presented to leaders who have made meaningful contribution to advance bioenergy research, policy & sector building, and innovation in British Columbia.
The BC Bioenergy Network was established in April 2008 with a $25 million grant from the Provincial government. It is an industry-led initiative that helps deploy near-term bioenergy technologies and supports research towards building a world-class bioenergy capability in BC.
On Thursday, October 20th, 2022, BC Bioenergy Network announced three recipients of the 2022 BC Bioenergy Sector Award during the virtual ceremony. This was the second annual celebration of the BC Bioenergy Sector Awards, the awards were presented for outstanding leadership and contribution to the bioeconomy sector in British Columbia.
