New CHBE Competition

Are you working on a project that has the potential to highlight the positive impact of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the world, on our planet and the global community? If so, you are invited to enter a competition to showcase your work in a 3-min video. The details of the competition are outlined below.

Benefits and Prizes:

  • To build positive public awareness about your work, and chemical and biological engineering in general
  • Top three videos are awarded $1000, $750, $500 and will be featured in CHBE Newsletter/website/social media platforms

Registration is closed.

Format and Rules:

  • The competition is open to both undergraduate and graduate students
  • The project may be based on a curricular or extracurricular activity
  • Open to new and established teams
  • Teams must :
    • be more than 3 members and a CHBE-majority
    • have a faculty member to oversee the activity
    • produce a 3-min video clearly showcasing their work and demonstrating the positive impacts (qualitative and/or quantitative). In addition to accurate technical content, creativity and originality in the project, we are also looking for a professional presentation of your team and/or the CHBE department as well as high-quality video and audio production.
    • consider the general public as the audience
    • sign a media release form and liability waiver (will be sent to registered teams)
  • Video files are to be shared via a OneDrive link on a survey that will be sent out to the registered team(s).
  • Video submissions are due Friday, April 8th, at 11:59 pm.
