The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering would like to welcome Dr. Mona Rahmani.

Dr. Rahmani holds a PhD degree from the University of British Columbia in Environmental Fluid Mechanics, where she studied shear instabilities and mixing in density stratified flows. Her research interests are in the fields of multiphase flows and density stratified flows with applications in renewable energy, biomaterials and sustainability. Dr. Rahmani held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University where she studied turbulent particle laden flows in particle solar receivers, and a previous postdoctoral fellowship at IFP Energies Nouvelles where she studied settling and rheology of suspensions of particles with applications in the energy sector. Dr. Rahmani has several years of experience at the University of British Columbia in teaching undergraduate courses and conducting research in the Complex Fluids Laboratory.
