We are excited to share that Benjamin Steszyn, a fourth-year Environmental Engineering undergraduate student, has received 2nd place (silver) in the Reg Friesen Student Oral Paper Competition at the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering (CSChE) 2025 Annual conference in Montreal.
The competition encourages students to present on non-technical papers topics such as critical evaluation of their educational experiences or innovative learning or teaching strategies.
Benjamin presented research-based instructional materials he developed, including lectures and activities, to improve student team collaboration in third-year design courses. Benjamin’s work was part of a Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) project focused on improving professional skills development throughout the undergraduate curriculums in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Chemical & Biological Engineering. The work was supervised by Dr. Jonathan Verrett.
