CHBE Alumni Clinton Large and Marc Apduhan: Leading Change in Education and Reforestation

Meet Clinton Large and Marc Apduhan, both UBC alumni from the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, who are making a difference in their respective fields. Both have been included in BC Business’ 30 Under 30.

Clinton Large founded Large Tutoring in 2020, a thriving educational platform focused on inclusivity. Offering diverse classes for students of all ages, including those with learning disabilities, Large Tutoring has already helped 400 students achieve academic success, with projected revenues of $220,000 for 2023.

On the other hand, Marc Apduhan is driving reforestation efforts as the innovation and business development manager at Flash Forest. The company’s use of advanced technology, including drones and AI, has enabled them to scale rapidly, planting an impressive 500,000 pods per day, in pursuit of their ambitious goal to plant one billion trees by 2028.

Not stopping there, Marc also leads as CEO at Renovo Creative Inc., a Vancouver-based impact agency supporting businesses in creating positive environmental and social change through technology-driven solutions.

Both Clinton and Marc’s contributions serve as a testament to the potential impact CHBE alumni can have on the world, as they continue to inspire change and make a lasting difference in their communities.
