The CHBE Research Scholar is your gateway to an immersive academic journey in Chemical and Biological engineering at UBC. Tailored for second-year students entering Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Biological Engineering, this is an exclusive opportunity for a small, select group to engage in advanced research. Participants collaborate closely with peers and experts, gaining deep, hands-on experience in projects integrated into their coursework. Beyond academic growth, the CHBE Research Scholar also opens doors to industry connections and summer work opportunities, equipping students with the skills and experience to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Qualifications and Application Process
CHBE Research Scholars (CRS) is open to students who:
- Are qualified to enter APSC 2nd year and have completed all first year courses
- Select Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Biological Engineering as first choice program in placement
- Have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 80%
Application process:
- Complete application form
- Interviews – will take place at the end of April
- Final Decisions will be made second week of May
