CHBE Industrial Scholar is your gateway to an immersive academic journey in chemical and biological engineering at UBC. Exclusively for second-year students entering Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Biological Engineering, this prestigious, industry-sponsored opportunity is awarded to up to five students each year. Participants benefit from a unique learning experience, working on projects sponsored by industrial partners and receiving mentoring from industry experts. CHBE Industrial Scholar not only provides in-depth knowledge in core engineering principles but also guarantees interviews for a paid summer work experience .
Qualifications and Application Process
CHBE Industrial Scholars (CIS) is open to students who:
- Are qualified to enter APSC 2nd year and have completed all first year courses
- Select Chemical Engineering or Chemical and Biological Engineering as first choice program in placement
- Have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 80%
Application process:
- Complete application form
- Interviews – will take place at the end of April
- Final Decisions will be made second week of May
