Humanitarian Engineering: Politics and Practice is a new, unique course jointly offered and co-taught by the Faculties of Applied Science and Arts (in which it is listed as POLI 371). In this course, students from engineering, political science, and international relations will work together in interdisciplinary teams on design projects to tackle real-world humanitarian and sustainability challenges, and explore engineering design and humanitarian interventions in a broader sociotechnical context.
Application Required:
- Spots are limited and application is required. Accepted students will be registered later this summer. Interested students should fill out the application form before July 4th, 2023.
Eligibility:
- BASc students in Year 3-4
- APSC 367 covers the Impact of Engineering on Society, Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship requirement for all BASc students with the exception of CIVL, ENVE and ENVL.
For CHBE Students:
- This course can be taken instead of APSC 261/APSC 262
